18th October 2011. At the ASRM conference in Orlando USA Dagan Wells announces a new 3 in 1 test, whereby tests for mitochondria and for telomere viability are added to the 24sure aneuploidy screen.
4th July 2011. At ESHRE's conference in Stockholm Prof. Alan Handyside presented 24sure data that suggests drugs used to stimulate egg maturation in IVF may be causing chromosomal abnormalities in their eggs although more work is needed.

It should be noted that Prof. Handyside was indicating that there may a general increased incidence of aneuploidy per egg in IVF stimulation, but the risk is similar for all chromosomes and not specifically trisomy 21 (Downs syndrome), as is borne out by IVF live birth epidemiology data where Down’s syndrome has no greater prevalence for the same maternal age as the non-IVF population.
